Page 1 of 2 As I have just recently arrived back from the grand re-opening
of the reinvented village of Club Med Cancun Yucatan, I wanted to share
with you some of what I experienced in this absolutely beautiful upscale
and luxurious resort.
As we entered through the front gate I could tell already that this was a different place then it was before. When we drove through, the inlaid brick work along the way and the attention to detail on the gardens reflected a sense of charm found only in the most discriminating resorts.
Even the main bar area has been enclosed and air conditioned, redesigned
with wide open spaces and plush couches and lounge chairs. As we glanced out from the bar we were all taken aback by our beach. The initial reports of the beach being washed away from the hurricane last year was tangible. However, Club Med experienced something different. As the beach did wash away from most of Cancun, being that resort is at the end of the island, the sand all washed down to the resort. So, as a result, the beach in front of Club Med is the largest it’s been in over 30 years and certainly currently the largest in all of Cancun. Adorned with palapas (thatched beach umbrellas) and lounge chairs, this is an idyllic and beautiful locale on a mostly private beach.
The newly renovated main restaurant, La Hacienda, has been entirely redone with 5 different themed dining areas – from the ‘Living Room’ to the ‘Library’ to the ‘Kitchen’, each dining experience is unique while you enjoy the delicious cuisine that is prepared fresh in front of you by expertly trained chefs and, of course, with an abundance of choices (don’t forget to try a piece of their world famous white chocolate bread).
And, let us not forget about the other restaurants: La Cazuelas our Mexican Fusion restaurant that sits waterside with beautiful views of the Caribbean and La Pergola, specializing in light fare throughout the day and with Mediterranean Tapas at night that offers excellent views of the beach, and Cancun Bay. The completely renovated rooms with views of our tranquil lagoon and the gardens offer rich colors and décor, having the influence of the Mayan region, makes you feel comfortable and ‘at home’. They feature two twin beds adjustable to a king, bathroom with shower, air-conditioning, hair dryer, mini-fridge, coffee maker, iron & ironing board, clock radio/CD player, telephone, flat screen TV, and personal safes. The new and spacious oceanfront Jade Suites offers a king size bed
and a sofa. This beautiful room features enhanced amenities such
as bathroom with If its sight seeing that’s your interest, you can take in a free excursion to El Meco, an archeological site just north of Cancun that offers an initial immersion in to the life and culture of the rich Mayan history that is abundant in this area. This 2 hour jaunt is a perfect tour for families to do together. If you’re into experiencing more of the culture, they offer many different options to the likes of Chichen Itza, Xcaret, Coba, and Tulum. Each tour is enhanced by an expertly trained guide that will offer you an insight to the rich Mayan culture and history. Don’t forget that this is now a Family resort and they specialize in kids with their dedicated Mini Club Med. They provide activities for children from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. six days of the week. A children's pool and playground toys are available on this charming site bordering the beach and the bay of Cancun.Programs for tweens and teens at the heart of the resort. THE IDEAL FAMILY DESTINATIONGuests of all ages are now welcome to join in the discovery of the new Cancun Yucatan. Let the kids build sandcastles while you build a stronger connection with the family. Our Children’s Clubs give your little ones a chance to learn, play and socialize. The newest addition for our teen guests, Passworld, gives them their own hangout with new friends their own age. While we keep your children energized, enjoy some carefree moments of relaxation, bathed in luxury and beauty. For infants under 24 months. Baby food and infant amenities available
in rooms and areas of the restaurants. Even for infants under 24 month, we offer out Baby Welcome Package that provides baby food and infant amenities available in rooms and areas of the restaurants. So, there is no need to lug that stroller of high chair from home, as this is all provided in the village complementary. Also, if you worried about your teenager…. no problem as we now offer our Passworld tween / teen program from 11 – 17 years during holiday and peak periods with an additional tween / teen only lounge / entertainment center that will open in the spring. I know this is only a glimpse of some of the beauty and charm that this new resort of Club Med Cancun Yucatan has to offer, your discovery vacation is more than just festivities – it’s an enriching experience the whole family can share. The memories you share at this unique renovated village will stay with you and your family for many years to come. Regards, Christopher M. Tichy |
